Today, I’m continuing my commitment to interview and document the daily life of my friends around the globe, so we can record what they are experiencing during the coronavirus pandemic.

In the above video, I interviewed my close friend Megan, who has been an NYC resident for nearly a decade. She is currently quarantined in her high rise apartment building in Long Island City, Queens (a borough of New York City), and has barely left her building in weeks.

As a former New Yorker myself, it continues to be heartbreaking to hear about the struggle NYC has been facing with this virus. I found it especially interesting to hear Megan’s first-hand accounts in this interview about her experiences living and working while watching the crisis unfold first-hand. Thankfully, she has been able to maintain her health, continue her job, and stay as active as possible. For so many people in NYC, I realize that is not quite the case. And my heart hurts.

The purpose behind this series is to create a way to document history from a citizen perspective, as well as to share human stories on a broader platform. I have already posted a previous interview about daily life in England, and I have a few more that will be published about Seattle and Argentina as well. Hope you all stay tuned for those!
