In a world where all of the liquids that we need for a week must fit in a quart-size baggie, it’s easy for any traveler to notice how much extra space their favorite perfume or cologne bottle’s packaging takes up in their carry-on when they start packing for a trip.

All of that extra packaging certainly creates beautiful bottles that we love to display with pride on our vanities. In many cases, investing in a signature scent can also do double duty as an investment in home décor! In recent years I’ve seen incredibly artistic perfume bottles shaped like flowers, gemstones, and even dancing women!

It looks like a luxurious amethyst sculpture, but there is a ton of extra packaging on the Alien by Thierry Mugler bottle

That said, when it comes to bringing your signature scent with you on the road, it can be a struggle to fit that artful home décor/sculpture into a 22”x14”x9” carry-on. Not only is it too bulky for a quart sized bag, but what if the bottle breaks in transit???

I found a solution.

Four years ago, I discovered an amazing travel helper called the Travalo, which is a device that lets me bring the perfect amount of fragrance in my carry-on bag without the added package bulk or risk of breaking.

It’s 3.6x1.1x0.9 inches (tiny!), weighs under two ounces, and holds 5ml of fragrance (which I estimate is about 30 sprays). Plus, the best part is that the Travalo’s atomizer technology doesn’t compromise the scent of my perfumes by exposing it to the air! Game changer!!!

I love how tiny the Travalo is! It fits so easily into a quart-size liquids bag!

In today’s video, I filmed a hands-on demonstration of exactly how I use the Travalo to safely transfer my favorite perfume from its original bottle directly into the TSA-friendly device. It costs under $16 on Amazon, and it can also be found at The Container Store if you’re in a pinch.

Since $16 is less than most travel-size versions of popular scents at Sephora, it’s a no-brainer in my option to invest in the Travalo so you can use the travel-friendly container over and over. I was even able to find it on sale on Amazon during the holiday season for under $11 when I purchased mine! I’ve now had mine for over four years, and it’s still working perfectly.

I hope you all find this solution helpful as you pack for your next trip! This review was not sponsored – I just truly love this product, and I assume you will too. If you use a Travalo or have questions, feel free to leave a comment and I’m happy to reply! Happy travels, everyone!
